Symbolic Meaning of the Crescent Moon:

crecent moon

The moon has many different symbolisms. The moon is a symbol of rebirth. The crescent moon is a symbol of new beginnings; the moon goes from waxing crescent to whole, from whole to waning crescent and from waning crescent to dark – starting its cycle over again. The moon is also a symbol that Wiccans use to represent the three aspects of the Goddess the whole represents the mother aspect, the waxing crescent represents the maiden aspect and the waning crescent represents the crone aspect.

Symbolic Meaning of the Pentacle:

pentacle

“Many people today misunderstand the true meanings attached to the pentacle (a.k.a the pentagram).  In today’s world  most people fail to research the meanings behind symbols before passing judgment upon those who choose to wear them. As someone who has always been interested in the meaning of symbols within world religions I have decide to share my research in order to help promote understanding. The pentacle/pentagram is perhaps one of the most misunderstood symbols in human history. This ancient symbol has been used by Christians, Jews and Wiccans as a positive symbol of light and love.  The pentagram in its upright position has always been viewed as a symbol of light.  Many people do not realize that  it wasn’t until the 1800’s that the inverted pentagram (the upside down star) began to be associated with darkness. The media is quick to only notice those use who view this symbol as something of darkness, yet they forget to mention the positive meanings of the pentagram that are held by Christians, Jews and Wiccans. Lets take a look at the meanings that each group associates with this symbol and you decided for yourself.

History:

The pentagram (or pentacle as it is known when not written or drawn) is one of the most persistent symbols in human history. It is one of oldest symbols dating back to the time of Uruk of 3500 BC in Ur of the Chaldees in Ancient Mesopotamia. The pentagram is found in many ancient cultures including India, China, Greece, Egypt, Babylon and the Mayans of Central America. Each culture has its own symbolism attached to the five points of the pentagram.

WICCA SYMBOLISM: OTHER:

As the primary symbol used by Wiccans and other Neo-Pagans, the pentagram also represents aspects of their faith. To some, the pentagram represents the spiritual aspects of life and seeking secret knowledge. To others the five points symbolize the four directions of north, south, east and west with the fifth point representing sanctity of spirit. When within a circle, the star symbolizes wholeness, unity and divine knowledge.

WICCA SYMBOLISM: THE ELEMENTS:

In Wicca, the five points represent the five elements and their metaphysical aspects. The element of earth represents physical endurance and stability and is the symbol of the lower left point. The lower right point is symbolic of fire, which represents courage. The element of water represents intuition and emotion and is the meaning of the upper right point. The upper left point symbolizes air and represents intelligence. The fifth point is symbolic of the element of spirit, and represents the divine. The meaning is basically similar to the old saying “mind over matter,” which means the ability of one’s spirit to control the lower aspects of our being.

CHRISTIAN SYMBOLISM:

In antiquity Christians viewed the pentagram as a lesser-used symbol of their faith. The five points of the pentagram represent the five wounds of Christ. Early Christians also attributed the pentagram as a symbol of the Trinity with the two other points representing the two natures of Christ. It also symbolizes truth, the work of the Creator, the five joys of the Virgin Mary, the Alpha and the Omega and the five virtues of generosity, fellowship, purity, courtesy and mercy. To knights it represented the five knightly virtues of generosity, courtesy, chastity, chivalry and piety.

JEWISH SYMBOLISM:

In antiquity the Hebrews viewed the pentagram as a symbol of divine truth. The five points were ascribed to the five books of the Pentateuch and to truth found in Hebrew scriptures of the Torah. In the Jewish Kabbalistic tradition, the points represent the archetypal forces of justice, mercy, wisdom, understanding and transcendent splendor.

SATANIC SYMBOLISM:

In Satanism, the inverted pentagram represents the physical elements of earth, fire, air and water dominating the spiritual aspects of life. It also represents the goat’s head of Baphomet. The inverted pentagram as a symbol for Satan or the devil did not appear until the 19th century.

In Conclusion:

Don’t judge a book by its cover. What may seem like a worthless book may hold the keys to learning more about the world around you. Always ask questions and never judge people for what they wear. The person you mistakenly judge may have a heart of gold. It’s time to stop being afraid of wearing this religious symbols. Wear it and joyfully share your faith when asked (even if the person asking is unkind due to their own ignorance).”

About Moldavite:

Moldavite stone

Attributes: Moldavite is another of the stones for the New Age. It is a form of Tektite, said to have extraterrestrial origin, formed when a giant meteorite struck the earth. The heart of impact metamorphosed surrounding rocks, creating a ~strew field~ by flinging the resulting crystals over a vast area. Moldavite is therefore a fusion of extraterrestrial energies with mother earth. This is a rare stone. It is now found along the banks and river of Moldau and is unlikely to be found anywhere else in the world. The crystal will become extinct. Moldavite has been used since Stone age times as a talisman and amulet for good fortune and fertility. Many people believe it came to aid in earth’s transition and healing and that the time has come to use Moldavite’s energies wisely. It can greatly enhance the effect of other crystals, taking them to their highest vibration. Moldavite brings you into communication with the higher self and extraterrestrials. Moldavite has it’s own cosmic oversoul*, which  can put you in touch with the Ascended Masters* and cosmic messengers. Holding the stone up to the light and gazing at into it shifts your consciousness. This stone takes you into the highest spiritual dimensions and facilitates the ascension process. It needs to be grounded or else it can leave you spaced-out or rootless. Holding a pair of Bonji stones gently grounds after spiritual experiences with Moldavite, and the energies of clear Quartz stabilizes its effects. Moldavite has an extremely high vibration, which opens, clears blockages from, and aligns the chakras*. It integrates the Divine blueprint and accelerates spiritual growth. Moldavite resonates with the crown chakra, opening it to receive the highest spiritual guidance. Placed on the throat, Moldavite communicates interplanetary messages especially with regards of the state of the ecology of the earth and its need for healing. This is a stone that transcends time. Placed on the third eye*, Moldavite enables you to go forward into the future or back into the past. It facilitates journeys to other lives if this is appropriate. Rather than going back into the past to relive a life, expect to regain spiritual wisdom, or journey to the before -incarnation state to access purpose, Moldavite shows future potentials. Under the influence of Moldavite you can go forward to a future to see the results of actions taken in the present life, or to learn what is needed in the present life to prevent destruction in the future. Moldavite is a useful stone to sensitive people who find it difficult being in incarnation on the earth and cannot adjust to suffering and deep emotions. Many such people are star children* who have come to aid the earth in its time of transition to a new vibration. They are unused to heavy energies of earth and find it difficult to integrate the spiritual bodies into the physical, and need to ground. Moldavite, used in conjunction with grounding stones such as Hematite and Smoky Quartz, aid this process on the heart. Moldavite eases `homesickness` for those who origin is not Earth. Moldavite has no crystalline structure and so it takes you way beyond your limits and boundaries. Psychologically, it assists in developing detachment from mundane, earthbound security issues such ass money and worries for the future. Moldavite provides an overview of reasons for incarnating and connects your spiritual purpose, integrating this into earthly life. It supports qualities such as empathy and compassion. At a mental level, Moldavite in unconventional and inspiring, bringing the unexpected solutions forward. It can awaken latent memories and access spiritual information through the intellect. It releases fixed ideas and archaic belief systems and can neutralize hypnotic commends*. Physically, holding Moldavite may trigger a huge rush of energy through the body that has powerful metaphysical effects it `downloads` information from the Akashic Records* and the light body, which then has to be processed and made conscious. This process may take some time but the process accelerates spiritual growth and the rising of personal vibrations.

Healing: Rather than helping individual conditions, Moldavite makes one aware of the cause and source of dis-ease* and then supports the releasing and healing process. It also brings the gift contained within the illness to your attention. Moldavite can be used as a tool for diagnosis. People who dislike its deep green color often have an aversion to emotion and need to experience unconditional love and wholeness. They may also have hidden emotional trauma that needs to surface and heal, for which other crystals are required.

Position: Place on the forehead, throat or crown . Note: Moldavite is fragile and should not be cleaned with salt water as it scratched the surface.

About the Writing Around the Pentacle:

saying around the pentacle

The words around the pentacle are “I am the beauty of the green earth and the white moon among the stars” is part of Starhawk’s charge of the star Goddess. The charge of the Goddess is an inspirational text that is used mostly by neo-pagans and Wiccans. The charge of the Goddess is a very important text that the high priestess of a coven will read at the end of the ritual “drawing down the moon” This charge is a promise that the Goddess will be with all people. This sacred text is very beautiful and something everyone should read.

The Celtic knots and swirls:

swirls and knots 2

Looking at this beautiful pendant, it seems as if the designer mixed several of the different Celtic swirls and knots. This shows the creativity of the designer. The way the knots and swirls flow is beautiful. This designer is very talented in what he does.

This pendent measures 1 height x 1 width in inches, or 2.54 in height by 2.54 in width in cm. Made of .925 Solid Sterling Silver, this pendent is lightweight and is single sided.

My Personal Opinion:

Personally I wear this pendant every day I almost never take it off. I wear it on a 24inch chain so it aligns with my heart chakra; I find that it helps that chakra a lot. Personally, I like this pendent because it has so much symbolism, everything from the moon to the small details of the Celtic knots and swirls. This is by far my favorite pentacle that I own. The moldavite stone is very unique and that’s one of the reasons I love this pendant. I was so happy when I saw that I could get a pendant with that stone in it. I recommend this pentacle to anyone who wants a pentacle with a unique stone in it.

“Our hope is to support and inspire earth based spirituality.

Paul and Suzanne

We are devoted to the Pagan religion and see our work as revitalizing the presence of the Goddess in our society. For those who are not Pagan, our pieces often connect them with their spirituality, heritage or ancestors. Each of our pieces are consecrated in circle and dedicated to the service of the divine. Several designs have a portion of their price donated to charitable organization, as our way of trying to give back. We are thankful to the community of Pagans across the country that has supported our efforts.
The imagery for all of Paul’s work begins with ritual and meditation and is followed by extensive research. Paul feels the image is a gift from the Gods and has an etheric life of its own. He holds the image in his mind until he finds the appropriate material. Paul will stare for long periods of time into the material until he can see within the completed piece. Through this process the image and its life force is transferred into the wood or stone. Paul maintains that once the image solidifies in the wood, the carving is quick and easy. The first day is the most exciting for him because everything is potential. His heart pumps with excitement and the thrill of sinking his chisels into wood.”
